Annie P. Gipp

Funeral Services for Annie P. Gipp, who died on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Baptist Hospital South in Montgomery, will be at 1 p.m. today at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. L.G. Bland, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Gipp was born to the late Bobby Lou Neal and Ethel M. Jones in Pike County on March 1, 1926. She was married to the late Willie F. Gipp. She joined the Mount Nebo Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Ethel Neal; three brothers, Eddie Lou, Willie Lee and James Authur; one son, Willie Arthur; and grandchildren, Sharon, Laquice, Jacquelyn Denise and Rickey, all of Troy.

She is survived by one son, Willie Joe (Mary) Gipp of Palmetto, Ga.; one daughter, Cora Mae Johnson of Troy; two aunts of Pittsburg, Pa.; three grandsons, Gregory (Annie) Dunn of Ottawa, Canada, and Cameron and Patrick (Nacolia) Gipp of East Point, Ga.; two granddaughters, Janice Johnson of Montgomery and Catherine Jordan of Troy; one great-granddaughter, Keysia Gipp of Atlanta; two goddaughters, Crystal and Vanessa Woods; one godgrandson, Dorin; the Croskey family; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are her nephews and family.

Flower Bearers are friends and family.

Lamar Eugene Beasley

Graveside services for Lamar Eugene Beasley, 69, of Eufaula, who died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at his son's home in Tacoma, Wash., after a lengthy battle with cancer, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with hospice chaplain Rick Harden officiating and Kent Funeral Home of Eufaula directing.

Born October 15, 1937, in Barbour County, Mr. Beasley was the son of the late Lamar Rosenburg and Marjorie Hulsey Beasley. He was a lifelong resident of Barbour County and retired after 26 years of service from Boyd Brothers Trucking Company in 2006 as fleet manager.

His wife, Emma Nell Beasley, preceded him in death in April 2006.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky E. and Leanne Beasley of Tacoma, Wash.; a granddaughter, Stephanie Paige Beasley; and great-grandson, Jackson Wyatt Beasley.
