“Those who are doing business in the state of Alabama right now need to hear what he has to say because there isn’t a more in touch person in the business climate than Bill Canary.”

Canary became the president and chief executive officer of the Business Council of Alabama after serving as president and CEO of the American Trucking Associations in Washington D.C., which represents more than 37,000 motor carriers before all branches of government.

Since taking helm of the BCA, Canary has been named to the boards of the Alabama Civil Justice Reform Committee, the Business Associations’ Tax Coalition, the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, the Pubic Affairs Research Council of Alabama, the Alabama Automobile Manufacturers Association, the Alabama Technology Network and the Alabama Aerospace Industry Association.

He is member of the 15th class of Leadership Alabama and serves on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Committee of 100.

Leigh Anne Windham, Chamber membership director, said Canary will present valuable information on the state’s business climate.

“It’s very important for us to be aware of what is taking place around the state,” she said.

“The Chamber’s annual luncheon always provides opportunities for learning and also offers an excellent atmosphere for its members to network with fellow Chamber members.
