School supply giveaway is Saturday

Saving Our Youth Organization is on the move in 2020 despite the Covid-19 Pandemic. “Whether our children are Virtual or in the classroom they will still need their school supplies” said LaShonda Spikner Martin. “We are teaming up with Better Bodies By Blo Fitness Center Owner Curtis Monroe Jr to be a blessing to the youth of Troy and surrounding communities with a social distancing twist. This year we will be in adherence to all social distancing guidelines handed down from Governor Kay Ivey and the CDC. All Children and parents will drive up wearing a mask to receive supplies and door prizes to make it easier and smooth for everyone.

Supplies will be distributed from 2 until 4 pm at Better Bodies by BLO Fitness Centner, 207 Orion Street, Troy on Saturday, August 8. 

Saving Our Youth Organization was founded in June of 2017 by LaShonda Spikner Martin and her husband Clyde H Martin III.

“We have a charge to continue in the fight to help our children and communities,” Spikner Martin said. “With jobs uncertain, unemployment taken away and the coronavirus pandemic numbers on the rise, it may difficult on some parents with school starting back in two weeks. We want to help in a way that can bless the parents and up to 1,000 children to start their school year off with tools they need to be successful in the classroom.”

Saving Our Youth Organization is still on the move in 2020.
