As Troy Regional Medical Center begins the search for a new Chief Executive Officer, Chief Clinical Officer Amy Minor has been selected to serve as the interim CEO.

Minor has been with the hospital for nearly 20 years and has been a senior team leader at TRMC for the past seven years.

“My goal as interim chief executive officer is to maintain the progress and growth that we have been able to accomplish at Troy Regional to meet the needs of this community and our region,” Minor said.

Former CEO Ronnie Dean announced his resignation in August to accept a position as CEO of the South Georgia Health System based in Valdosta, Georgia. There he assumes responsibility of a four-campus, three-hospital system that is anchored by the 330-bed South Georgia Medical Center.

With Dean serving his final day in the role last Friday, The Troy Hospital Health Care Authority Board of Directors selected Minor to serve in the interim as the board evaluates candidates to fill the position. Minor has chosen not to be a candidate for the job.

“Amy fully understands the needs of our organization exceptionally well and will continue our operations in an uninterrupted manner,” said Sherrill Crowe, chairman of the board.

“We appreciate Amy’s dedication to Troy Regional Medial Center and have great confidence in her serving as interim CEO,” said Troy Mayor Jason Reeves. “We have an excellent team and know they will keep us moving forward through the process of the selection of a new CEO.”

Although there is no timeline yet for hiring a new permanent CEO, the board is currently evaluating candidates. Minor will continue in the role until a new CEO is hired.

“It shows the board has a tremendous amount of trust in me; that this team trusts in my abilities as a leader means a lot to me,” Minor said. “Our physicians, clinical departments as well as every member of the Troy Regional team are going to continue to provide remarkable care for our patients and their families. I want to provide a seamless transition to whoever is the final candidate.”
