Two pedestrians struck during Thanksgiving weekend

Multiple pedestrians were struck by vehicles during the Thanksgiving weekend according to Alabama State Troopers.

The first incident was a hit-and-run and investigators are still working to discover what happened.

Capt. Tracy Nelson said Michael Allen Paxton of Troy was found struck by some kind of vehicle at approximately 5:40 p.m. Thanksgiving Day on the side of Alabama Highway 93 near County Road 4404.

Nelson said Troopers are still unaware of what vehicle hit Paxton or who may have been driving. Paxton was transported from the scene for treatment of his injuries.

Another pedestrian was struck on Saturday, November 24.

Kimberley Dean Brannon, of Donaldsonville, Georgia, was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by Jaswant Singh of Durham, North Carolina, while walking along U.S. Highway 231 between Troy and Brundidge.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. at the 177 mile-marker. Brannon was seriously injured and transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

Troopers are still investigating both of these cases at this time.
