Troy Elementary and Banks School will be hosting fall festivals Thursday to celebrate the harvest season.

“This event is the Troy Elementary PTO’s biggest fundraiser,” said Caleb Dawson, president of the TES PTO. “Activities include carnival games, face painting, bounce houses cake walk, silent auction and more.  Kids who attend any school (or home school) in our area are welcome.”

Admission to the fall festival is $15 per child and parents get in free. The festival opens at 5 p.m. and will end at 7:30 p.m.

“The evening of fun will conclude with the ever-popular Kiss the Pig contest,” Dawosn said. “Students cast votes at 25 cents a vote for the teacher in each grade they most want to see kiss a pig. The teachers with the most votes kiss Fatty Patty the pig.”

The Fall Festival raises money that allows the Troy Elementary PTO to provide financial support for the Accelerated Reader program; TES art, music and PE programs; purchases of classroom supplies and laptops for TES students.

“The PTO is grateful for the many cash and in-kind donations from local families and businesses,” Dawson said.

The Banks School fall festival is likewise one of the most important fundraiser of the year for the Banks School PTO.

“The Banks fall festival will entertain the entire Banks community as well as surrounding communities with carnival games, food, country store, raffles and a live auction,” said Carrie Turner, Banks School PTO president. “All proceeds directly benefit the students and faculty at Banks School.”

The PTO at Banks sponsors A and A-B Honor Roll recognition, the growth mindset program, Accelerated Reading recognition, Teacher Appreciation Week and Red Ribbon Week.

“Our fall festival is the fundraising event of the  year and with your donation of goods, services, food items or monetary contribution, it will be a great success,” Turner said. “The parents, teachers and students will greatly appreciate your contribution and every contribution will be recognized through signs and verbal recognition at the festival.”

Tickets for the festival are $2 per person.

Contributions can be sent by contacting Carrie Turner at 334-482-0277 or any other Banks PTO member.
