Man arrested after fleeing police on stolen mini-bike

A man fled from Troy police Saturday on a stolen mini-bike and led officers on a chase across several city streets before being captured.

Antonio Demond Williams, 41, of Troy, was charged with attempting to elude law enforcement for his fleeing of the police and with third-degree theft of property in association with the theft of the mini bike.

Three Notch Street on a mini bike that he had stolen earlier that morning from

Wal-Mart,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr.

When officers approached, Williams fled and was finally caught behind th peanut warehouses on Wiley Street.

Williams was released on a signature bond for misdemeanor charges, including previously existing charges, of fourth-degree theft of property, third-degree criminal trespass, third-degree assault and fleeing or attempting to elude police. He was then transported to the Pike County Jail where he was incarcerated for third-degree theft of property, a Class D felony. Bond was set at $1,500.

Enterprise police also had active warrants on Williams for felony theft. A hold was placed on Williams for the Enterprise Police Department
