Deputies seized guns, drugs, cash and hardware Thursday at the residence of a Pike County man.

Brian Ming, 45, of Brundidge, was arrested Thursday on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and first-degree possession of marijuana with more charges pending as the investigation unfolds.

Sheriff Russell Thomas said Sgt. Kevin Childs went to Ming’s residence and found after running a tag on a truck in Ming’s possession that the vehicle had been stolen.

Inside the truck, deputies found 4 ounces of methamphetamines and about a quarter-pound of marijuana, Thomas said.

Through the investigation, Thomas said the deputies also located 13 long-guns and 8 handguns, eight chainsaws, a mig-welder, a weed-eater and over $2,000 in cash.

At last two of those guns, Thomas said, have been confirmed to be stolen and deputies are working to determine if the others are stolen as well.

“Some of the guns have been identified as firearms taken during a burglary,” Thomas said. “Anyone who may be missing firearms or welders or chainsaws may contact our office to see whether these might be their items.”

Thomas said it is still early in the investigation, and that more charges could be coming against Ming in this case.

He has also been charged with a parole violation, meaning he is being held in the Pike County Jail without bond.

Trafficking in methamphetamine is a Class A Felony in Alabama and has a mandatory minimum of three years in prison. First-degree possession of marijuana is a Class C Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
