The 75th Annual Pike County 4-H Steer and Heifer Show went off without a hitch Saturday night at Cattleman Park. A huge crowd gathered to celebrate 75 years of consecutive Pike County 4-H Steer and Heifer Shows and to cheer on the kids who participated in the 2nd Annual Goat Show.

“We honored all of those who have participated in the 4-H Steer and Heifer Show over 75 years and we had multiple generations in the stands,” Wesley said. “Bill Hixon and Robert Drinkard were both in attendance as representatives of those who participated in the first 4-H Steer Show.”

Juanita Bush was also a member of the inaugural group but was not in attendance.

“The 2017 steer and heifer shows were very competitive and all of the 4-H’ers did an outstanding of job raising their animals and showing them,” Wesley said. “We look forward to the district and state competitions are Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery this week.”

Trent Thomas showed the Grand Champion Steer and Brandon Cuahua showed the Supreme Champion Heifer. Phenix Griffin showed both the Reserve Grand Champion and the Reserve Supreme Champion.

Max Copeland was awarded first place in Steers, Class 1 with 17. Annabelle Wesley took second place honors with Bingo.

In Steers, Class 2, Trent Thomas and Oreo took first place; Josh Graham and Cracker placed second; and Trent Thomas and Lil Fella, took third place.

In Class 3, steers, Phenix Griffin was awarded first place with Diesel and Josh Graham placed second with Gucci.

Annabelle Wesley and Elvira took top honors in Heifers, Class 1.

In Class 2 of the Heifers division, Brandon Cuahua and Tina, took first place honors and Phenix Griffin and Goldie were in second place.

Annabelle Wesley and Buttercup took first place in Class 3 in the Heifers division and Rylee Copeland and Patty held second place.

Class 4 Heifers division was won by Phenix Griffin and Strawberry and Anna Grace Thomas and Reba took second place.

The Showmanship division winners in the Senior II class were Trent Thomas, first place, and Josh Graham, second place.

Senior I Showmanship winners were Anna Grace Thomas, first place, and Marx Copeland, second place

Intermediate Showmanship winners were Brandon Cuahua, first place, and Phenix Griffin, second place.

Junior Showmanship winners were Annabelle Wesley, first place, and Rylee Copeland, second place.
