Her intent was to only stay for one year, but 25 years later, in 1994, she retired from the university and has since called Troy home. She was a beloved mother and teacher, devoted to her church and family, and always doing a lot of good for a lot of people. It has been said of her, “She lived a life of great fulfillment and significance.”   Dr. Schroeder was preceded in death by her parents, George and Estelle Bosch Snow; husband, Raymond Schroeder; and sisters, Helen Algar and Marcella Snow. She is survived by her son, Ray “Hillary” Schroeder; and grandchildren, Scott Schroeder and Rachel Schroeder.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her honor to Compassus Hospice (PO Box 965 Troy, AL 36081) or to St. Martin’s Catholic Church (725 Elba Hwy Troy, AL 36079). Friends and family can sign the guestbook online at www.greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Schroeder family.
