Mrs. Lisa Lowery Carter, age 53, of Auburn, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the East Alabama Medical Center after a brief battle with a very rare form of cancer. Visitation will be Monday, June 29, from 3-4 p.m. at the Providence Baptist Church (East Campus) located at 2807 Lee Road 166, Opelika, AL. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Dr. Rusty J. Sowell will be officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park in Auburn, Alabama. Pallbearers will be friends and work colleagues.

Lisa was born in Troy, Alabama, on October 13, 1961 to Paul and Irma Lowery. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband Robby. She was an amazing mother to her two daughters, Jessica and Jamie as well as to many others. She was a dedicated employee at Auburn University in the School of Veterinary Medicine in the Sugg Lab Research Department.

Lisa was a phenomenal cook who loved to entertain her family and loved ones. She loved the Lord and the natural beauty of His creation. She was a selfless individual who put others first. Lisa had a kind heart, a sweet soul and was the definition of strength; she truly was SUPERWOMAN. Lisa was beautiful in every aspect and made the world a better place.

She is survived by Robby, her husband of 35 years; two daughters, Jessica and Jamie, Jamie’s fiancé Russ Long; her mom, Irma Lowery; and three brothers, Lawrence (Jeanette), Wade (Joy), and Jeff. Nieces and nephews include Nathan Lowery, Kayla (Danny and Kaydence) Wineberg, Paul and Dalton Lowery and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Lowery.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home in Opelika, Alabama.
