Commission approves plat combination

After receiving approval from Troy Board of Adjustments, a couple hoping to build a pool house behind their existing dwelling had their plat combination go before Troy Planning and Zoning Commission.

Zach Bradley, a land surveyor with Watkins Engineering, represented Matthew and Stephanie Baker during Wednesday’s meeting, and requested the board approve a combination of the two existing lots the Baker’s own.

“Matt and Stephanie Baker have asked me to present the final plat for the final approval today,” Bradley said. “The lot, located at 215 W. College Street, was formerly a continuous lot, called the Julia Weedom Lot. At some point part of the lot was conveyed to the property on Murphy Street, but when Matt and Stephanie Baker bought the property they brought that property as well.”

Bradley said the final plat would again rejoin the two plats of land.

The board approved the request unanimously and with no objections.

In other items of business, the board approved the minutes from the previous meeting.

The board currently does not have a next regularly scheduled because the city clerk and board chairman are unable to attend. Board members suggested Thursday, April 14 at 9 a.m., but there were more conflicts with that date.

“Melissa and I will continue trying to find a date that works for folks, and would ask you give us approval to set that particular date sometime after the 15th,” said Commission Chairman Bill Hopper.

The commission approved the request unanimously, and Hopper said the two would work diligently to find a date suitable for the next Planning and Zoning meeting. Melissa Sanders, Troy City Planner, reported that there was currently one item on the April agenda for the commission.
