The Coffee County Arts Alliance has finalized its calendar of events for the 2013-2014 performance season and it’s a great one, said Ginny Cannon, CCAA publicity chair.

“We are very excited about our season this year,” Cannon said. “It reflects a lot of hard work by our selections committee, which works hard to bring diversity and artistic excellence each year. As you can see, we have really hit the mark this year.”

The CCAA season kicks off Saturday night, with the Moonlighters Dinner and Dance at 6:30 p.m. at the Enterprise Civic Center.

Cannon said that the Moonlighters will take the audience back to nights under the stars with classics like “I’ll Be Seeing You” and “Sentimental Journey.”

“Their music will bring back memories for many and create new ones for others,” she said.

On Monday, Sept. 23, Night at the Museum at Forrester Hall at Enterprise State Community College will feature visual arts displays and musical performances. The event is free and open to the public.

When October rolls around, Sha Na Na will musically set in stone that “Rock and Roll is Here to Stay.”

Sha Na Na, the Crown Princes of Doo-wop and Rock ’n Roll, will be in concert Oct. 3 at Elba High School.

Cannon said that Sha Na Na is a “don’t miss” event.

In November, “The Life and Music of Johnny Cash” will take center stage at the Enterprise High School Performing Arts Center with “Ring of Fire.”

The year 2014 will get off to a winning start with Suzy Bogguss, award-winning singer/songwriter.  Bogguss’ performance will feature country, traditional, folk and Western swing music. The Bogguss concert will be at Elba High School on Jan. 9.

On Feb. 13, The Dallas Brass will be back by popular demand. The Dallas Brass plays Dixieland, Swing, Pop and Folk music and folks can’t listen without tapping their toes and clapping their hands, Cannon said.

The Dallas Brass concert will be at the EHS Performing Arts Center.

The CCAA 2013-2014 will hit its grand finale with the Piney Woods Festival at Enterprise State Community College April 5 and 6.

Cannon said the Festival will bring to a close one of the most exciting CCAA event calendars in a long time.

“Thanks to the generosity and support of the community, CCAA is able to grow each year and continue to bring quality performances at an affordable price,” Cannon said.
