Troy Police are asking for assistance in finding a man who led officers on a vehicle and foot pursuit Thursday afternoon.

Marco Deon Swanson, 31, of Troy, had four outstanding alias warrants with the Troy Police Department at the time of the pursuit and is now wanted for several new charges related to the pursuit, according to TPD.

Officers attempted to stop an orange Ford mustang on Orion Street at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The driver, Swanson, did not stop and turned onto U.S. Highway 231 North, according to police.

Swanson pulled onto Childs Road and stopped the vehicle. He then left the car and ran into the woods, according to police.

TPD officers and Alabama State Troopers set up a perimeter along U.S. Highway 231 in an attempt to catch Swanson. Lawmen searched the area for about an hour.

Swanson is a black male who is 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs 155 pounds.
