“We just didn’t put it all together like we have been doing,” Copeland said. “We hit the ball well at times, and others not so well. We just couldn’t pull it out there in the end.”

In the first game, Troy jumped out to an early lead and eased to a 10-4 win.

Troy scored three in the first and two in the third and three more runs in the fourth to put AUM in a eight-run hole.

“We were more consisted in the first game, but still need to play a little better late,” Copeland said.

The rubber match is slated for a 10 a.m. first pitch at the Muscle Shoals Sportsplex.

Copeland feels that his team stands a good chance of bringing home a title if the players relax and play ball.

“We need to come out and hit the ball better,” Copeland said. “We didn’t hit consistently today. If we can hit better, good things will happen.”
