Program coordinator Dianna Lee said Barnes will be speaking on her experiences as a business owner.

“We have given her the topic of ‘It’s Our Business’ for the luncheon,” she said, “and we’ve asked her to speak on her experiences of being a successful female business owner.”

Barnes, who started her business nearly 21 years ago, said she looks forward to talking about her experiences.

“I’ll be telling the story of how my business got started,” she said, “as well as talking about how to incorporate the success of your business in with your personal life.”

She plans on telling the ladies how to believe in themselves and how to create success in their family life as well.

Barnes said her inspiration for starting this business began at home with her grandmother.

“My grandmother taught me her recipe for her rolls and ever since then, I always made them at every family function,” she said. “Then I realized how much I enjoyed it and got lots of requests to make them, so I started the business.”

The menu at the luncheon will consist of her own house rolls, spiral cut ham, potato salad, and her sweet rolls for dessert.

The Female Factor luncheon is hosted by the Troy Regional Medical Center, among other sponsors. If you would like to make a reservation, call (334) 670-5487 or email femalefactor@troymedicalcenter.com.
