Thelma Dobbins

Thelma Dobbins, 86, of Brundidge, formerly of Albany, Georgia died Friday, December 31, 2010 at Dale Medical Center in Ozark. The funeral service for Mrs. Dobbins was at 3 p.m. Monday, January 03, 2011 at Kimbrell-Stern with entombment to follow in Crown Hill Mausoleum.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.

A native of Brundidge, Mrs. Dobbins had lived in Albany for a great number of years before moving back to Alabama. Mrs. Dobbins was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a Baptist and loved to read, smile and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elda Dobbins; a daughter, Jimmie Arleen Dobbins and her parents, Joseph W. and Ozella Thomas Borden.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Patsy Barnes of Brundidge; son, Richard Arley Dobbins, Sr. and his wife Ann of Albany; four grandchildren, Richard A. Dobbins, Jr. and his wife April, Mark Adams and his wife Jeanine, Heath Adams and his wife Kelly, Andrea Knowlton and her husband, Timothy; her great-grandchildren, Shelby, Megan, Jacob, Allegra, Shawna, Whitney, Kenzie and Emily; brother, Joseph Wilford Borden of Arkansas; sisters, Velma Love Cordova, Olene Butts and Mildred Tew all of Alabama; sister-in-law, Carolyn Tew of Colorado; several nieces and nephews.
