Mrs. Lois Marie Darby, 90, died on July 15, 2010 in the Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, July 22, in First Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor George Gilchrist presiding. Burial will follow in the Carroll Street Memorial Cemetary. Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 21.
Louis M. Darby was born on November 19, 1919 in Coffee County, Ala., to the union of the late Hattie and Alvia Darby. At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined the First Missionary Baptist Church where she attended until her death. She was a member of the Christian Branch Society and the Rachel Court. She was an active member of the Adult Sunday School, where she attended every Sunday. She loved her church and pastor.
She departed this life Thursday, July 15, 2010. She leaves to cherish her memories to a loving nephew, Frank McLeod, Troy; niece, Helen Siler, Troy; nephew Fred Douglas, Newark, New Jersey; other relatives and friends; and devoted friends Magalene Stringer and Teresa Collins.
