Norma Jean Harrell, age 77, of Troy, was called home to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 12, 2010. A graveside service for Mrs. Harrell will be Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Wayne Locklar officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Harrell will be Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Mrs. Harrell retired from AFLAC after 30 years of service. She was an avid scrabble player and fisherman.
She is preceded in death by her father, Milton B. Allen, mother, Maggie Allen; husband, Gerald Harrell, Sr.; brother, Otis “Bud” Allen; and sister, Marjorie Johnson.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Harrell (Jan); one daughter, Brenda Burgans (Lamar); two brothers, Bill Allen and Johnny Allen; three sisters, Mae Joyce Martonak, Geraldine Dye and Sally Allen; a beloved niece, Dot McGuire, beloved Aunt, Annie June Banning, three grandchildren, Josh Burgans, Jason Burgans (Stephanie), Douglas Hale; one great-grandchild, Layton Burgans.
