Troy juvenile held for May robbery

Authorities in Troy arrested a juvenile from Montgomery County a week ago Monday, in connection with a robbery.

According to a statement released by the Troy Police Department, Tyre James Gay, 17, was apprehended as a suspect in an incident said to have occurred on the evening of May 30.

Gay allegedly confronted the victim at the victim’s residence demanding money while armed with a gun. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

TPD said two other suspects were also involved and they are unidentified.

TPD detectives obtained a warrant for Gay’s arrest on June 1 and he was arrested six days later.

The charges were Robbery 1st degree and giving false identification to a law enforcement officer.

Gay was transferred to Pike County Jail where he remains in custody on $30,000 bond.

Gay is believed to be the subject of another unrelated investigation in Montgomery County.
