Tournament team wrap-up

While there were many different softball and baseball tournaments going in Troy throughout the weekend, there were also several tournaments going on outside of the city that had several Troy teams a part of them.

In the Dixie Darlings Sub-District tournament, through two games, the Troy team is currently 1-1.

The team beat Enterprise on Friday night, however, lost on Saturday to Crenshaw County.

The team will be in action again on Tuesday night, at 6 p.m. against either Enterprise or Crenshaw County.

The Troy Dixie Youth 0-Zone team was competing in its District Tournament in Enterprise this weekend.

While Troy dropped its first game against the Enterprise Americans team on Friday, it got its first win of the tournament on Saturday against Slocomb and will now await the loser of the Enterprise Americans and Enterprise Nationals team on Monday, with a 6 p.m. start time.

In the Rookie District tournament in Luverne, Troy had both its Americans and Nationals team competing.

The Americans team lost to both the Enterprise Nationals team on Friday night, and to Greenville on Saturday night.

The Nationals team only played one game and made it count, defeating Crenshaw County on Friday night.

The Nationals will now play Greenville on Monday night, in Luverne.

The Troy Dixie Belles, began play Sub-District tournament against Zion Chapel Saturday night, however, were unable to finish it due to inclement weather.

Troy took a 3-0 in the bottom of the first before rain stopped the game.

The two teams will resume play on Monday, in Eufaula.

There was one team that only played one game this weekend – the Troy Dixie Angles, and they made it count.

The Angles team took out Eufaula in Eufaula, and in the process advanced to the next round where it will face off against Dothan on Monday night at 8 p.m.
