In a game that had two Pre-Minor teams from Pike County squaring off for the right to play for a championship, one was able to over power another to a big victory.

Troy was able advance to the final round thanks to its ability to out hit and outscore Brundidge in just four innings, as it won 16-0.

“I’m proud of how these kids played tonight,” head coach Andy Blair said Tuesday afternoon.

“I thought we did a good job hitting and fielding (Monday).”

Troy scored six runs in the first inning alone, to take a lead that it would not let go off.

Every Troy player reached base in the game, while Payne Griffen, Cole McWhorter, Jackson Blair and Ty Singleton all reach base multiple times.

Sibngleton finished with five RBIs, while Blair, McWhorter and Karson Mays all finished with two.

Troy scored in every inning, adding three in the second, one in the third and six in the fourth.

“We are swinging the bat pretty good right now,” Blair said. “We are going to have to keep it up though.”

On the opposite of the field, Brundidge finished with four hits.

Amaghie Lampley, Chance Brunney, Jeremiah Foster and Tyler Glover.

“We hustled all season long,” Brundidge head coach Jimmy Dixon said.

“This was a good experience for the kids. We had a lot of young players on this team, so next year I think we are going to be even better.”

Troy will be in action today at 6 p.m. in Brundidge as it looks to wrap-up the Pre-Minor Dsitrict championship.
