Woman charged with bringing drugs to jail

A 26-year-old Troy woman was arrested Wednesday after jailers found her attempting to carry drugs into the Pike County Jail.

Latasha Burney, a Captain D’s employee, faces charges of promoting prison contraband second degree, court records show.

Court records read Burney was searched while entering the Pike County Jail, and jailers say they located a plastic bag containing tobacco and marijuana in her shoe.

Her bond has been set at $2,500.
