The Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center/Family Resource Center in Troy is ready to “Tee It Up FORE Kids” and all golfers and duffers are invited to be a part of this annual fundraising event.

The “Tee It Up FORE Kids” golf tournament will be at 1 p.m. July 26 at the Troy Country Club.

“The tournament is a four-man scramble and that’s the kind of tournament that anyone can participate in and enjoy no matter what their skill level,” said Mona Watson, Center director. “The fee is $100 per player and includes the green fee, cart, lunch and a goody bag. All proceeds are used to help prevent child abuse and neglect throughout Pike County and the surrounding areas.”

The “Tee It Up FORE Kids” golf tournament is one of two, large annual fundraisers for the Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center. The other is the Motorcycle Run, which is a popular event.

“These fundraisers are vital to the operation of the CAC because we are a non-profit organization,” Watson said. “We depend on these fundraisers and donations to do all that we do to help children and families in crisis situations.”

The CAC opened in 2005 and has served 1,100 children who have been abused, neglected or are at-risk and others with emotional needs.

“Without the funds raised through the golf tournament and motorcycle run, we would not be able to offer many of the programs that are so important in the prevention of child abuse and neglect,” Watson said. “So, we encourage anyone who enjoys playing golf and wants to help children who are abused and neglected and want to prevent others from going through such trauma to tee it up.

Watson said pre-registration is not required but is helpful in planning lunch.

“We will certainly be glad to register golfers beginning around 11:30 a.m. on the day of the tournament,” she said. “We don’t want anyone to stay home and miss the fun of this tournament because they didn’t register before July 26. But those who can register early are encouraged to do so. There are several sponsorship opportunities for the ‘Tee It Up FORE Kids” golf tournament. Hole sponsorships are $150 and include sponsor plaque and recognition. Non-player sponsorships are available in any gift amount.
