“We still have spots left for ‘Spotlight on Dance’ camp so we encourage those who would enjoy a beginning dance camp to join us,” said Adena Moree, chair of the Troy University Department of Theater and Dance. “No dance experience is required for this camp and it’s not just a girls’ camp. Boys can dance, too.

“The camp is recommended for young athletes who want to increase their agility, balance and focus. Anybody who enjoys dancing and anyone who plays sports can benefit from this camp.”

The camp will include classes in ballet, jazz, and creative movement and will take campers from the beginning stage of dance to a place of confidence in their ability to move with purpose.

To register online for the “Spotlight on Dance” summer camp go to www.troytheatre.org or call 334-808-6142.

Moree said some hard copy registration forms are available at WTBF-Radio on the square in downtown Troy.

Dates and fees for other 2012 Summer Spotlight camps at Troy University are Creative Drama Camp, July 15-19 – Spotlighters, $150 and Mini-Spotlighters, $100 and Performance Intensive, July 22-28 – residential, $350; commuters with meals, $300; and commuters without meals, $250.
