Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jewell Sanders, age 74, of Brundidge, AL., who died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at her residence will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Earl Oakes and Rev. Byron Golden officiating. Burial will be in Sandfield Cemetery in Banks under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Mrs. Sanders will lie in state at the funeral home from 10:30- 11:00 a.m. 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at Skeen Funeral Home. Mary Jewell Sanders was born September 18, 1934 in Pike County, Ala.. She retired as manager of Bill’s Dollar Store in Brundidge, Ala. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy A. Sanders, daughter, Barbara Ann Sanders, grandson, Nathan Sanders, her mother and father, Henry G. and Mary Elizabeth Williams Golden, and several brothers and sisters.She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law: Randall and Sherry Sanders, Troy; and Danny Sanders, Brundidge; one granddaughter: Mary Alice Lowery, Ft. Knox, Ky.; two great granddaughters: Payton and Haley Lowery, both of Ft. Knox, Ky.; and a sister: Irene Meredith, Banks. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Williams, Todd Williams, David Sanders, Michael Meredith, Michael Lowery, and Joshua Sneed. The family request memorials be made to Hospice Advantage, P.O.
