Anna Marshall Wilkerson Baggett, 94, a resident of Canterbury Court in Atlanta, died on Thursday, July 23, 2009. A native of Monroeville, she was born April 16, 1915, to Edwin Taylor Clapp and Anna Marshall Moore Clapp. She was married to Thomas Eugene Wilkerson of Troy, Alabama for 28 years until his death in 1963. She was also preceded in death by her second husband Robert W. Baggett, her sister Irene Knight Clapp Nicol, and her brothers Edwin Taylor Clapp and Clement Moore Clapp.
She is survived by her daughters Anna Marshall Wilkerson Kress and Antoinette Wilkerson Watts of Atlanta; sons, Thomas Wilkerson Jr. (Janet) and John Wilkerson of Inverness, AL; her grandchildren Elizabeth Wilkerson Starling (David), Angela Wilkerson Beck (Anthony), Emily Wilkerson Meyer (Jeff), Katherine Kress Woocher (Michael), Laura Watts Shain (Kevin), Devon Wilkerson and Travin Wilkerson; and her great-grandchildren Anna Marshall and Mary Margaret Starling, Courtney and Chandler Beck; Charlie, Graham, and Marsh Woocher, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Troy, Alabama with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for the Building Fund, Attention: The Rev. Jeffery Gibson, 403 W. College Street, Troy, Al, 36081.
