Services for Joe Edward Grider, age 61, who died Friday, August 14, 2009, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Satu rday, August 29, 2009, at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, Pike County, Alabama, with Pastor Johnnie Henderson, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Pike County, Alabama, under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009 at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.
Joe Edward Grider was born November 15, 1947 to Henry Grider and Addie Pearl Grider.
At an early age, Joe accepted Christ and became a member of the Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church. Joe received his education in the Pike County Public School System.
After graduation from high school in 1967, he moved to Perth Amboy, NJ, where he was currently residing.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Addie Pearl Grider; his father, Henry Grider, Banks, Alabama; two sisters, Bernice Grider, Montgomery, Alabama, and Betty Curry, Troy, Alabama; one brother, Albert Henry Grider, Carteret, New Jersey; three aunts, Lena Mae Russ and Mae Esther Blackmon, both of Dothan, Alabama, and Lessie Jewel Molton of Birmingham, Alabama; nine niecesand nephews; fourteen great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
