Sunday, The Messenger will insert copies of a new magazine focusing on the city of Troy into the newspaper.

The magazine, Visions, produced by Troy Publications, Inc., explores many facets of the city, from health care to schools, to business and industry.

"It is a high-quality magazine that we hope our readers will enjoy," said Messenger publisher Rick Reynolds. "It was produced to make more information about the city available."

Reynolds said he hopes Visions will serve as a valuable recruitment magazine for community leaders who want to give people insight into the community, its location, key industries and educational programs.

The magazine highlights the many diverse facets of Troy, from restaurants to transportation.

Stories featured include a focus on new academy systems at local schools, the Pike Pioneer Museum, downtown Troy renovation and revitalization, business and industry, health care, Highway 231, the Troy Airport, and other essential elements of the community.

"It is a complete magazine about the city," said Messenger managing editor Brian Blackley. "The magazine explores many issues related to life in Troy and fuses those things together in a colorful, visual magazine that will inform people about life here."

The magazine represents the partnership of the city, the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and The Messenger in working together to promote the community.

The magazine will be inserted into Sunday’s Messenger and will be available to subscribers, rack buyers and those who buy from store vendors, Reynolds said.

"We hope it proves to be something useful and helpful that we can all be proud of," Reynolds said.
