A number of local athletes competed in the MVP Summer Bash Softball Tournament in Millbrook this past weekend as members of the 4Ever5 Sports Premier 18U team.

4Ever5 Sports went 1-2-1 during the weekend with a 6-3 loss to East Tuscaloosa Octagone, 3-3 tie with SALT Rambo, 1-0 win over SALT Rambo in a rematch and a 5-4 loss to All Out 18U.

Pike County’s Jada Duncan went 1-for-1 at the plate with a double, one RBI and a run in the opener against East Tuscaloosa. Her Pike County teammate Auriel Moultry also went 1-for-1 at the plate, while Pike Lib pitcher Yaley McLendon pitched two innings and struck out a batter along with giving up one hit and one earned run in the circle.

In the first game against SALT, Duncan went 1-for-2 at the plate with a run. In the rematch with SALT, Moultry went 1-for-2 with a double. McLendon also went 1-for-2 at the plate. In the final game of the tournament, Ducan went 1-for-2 at the plate.

McLendon, Moultry and Duncan all earned All-Tournament honors for their performances, as well. Other players to earn All-Tournament honors were Greenville catcher Sy’Nah Edwards, Luverne’s Zyan Peterson, Greenville’s Layla McCall and Justice Jenkins and Red Level’s Amaya Williams and Zoey Phillips.
