Troy Athletics gearing up for summer youth camps

As the summer begins, various Troy University Athletics programs will be holding summer youth camps.

Troy Football will kick things off June 3-5 with the inaugural Gerad Parker Battle Ready Kids Camp. The camp is a non-contact, skills teaching camp for youth football players led by Parker and his football staff. Campers will receive hands-on instruction as they participate in drills used by the Troy Football program. The cost for the camp is $75 for each camper and includes a T-shirt. Troy Football is also hosting a number of prospect camps for players ranging in age from 12 to 18 years old. The first Prospect Camp is May 30 with another being held June 8.

Troy Baseball, coming off another successful season, will hold two kids camps this summer. The first will take place June 17-19 for youth players of all genders ranging from kindergarten to seventh grade. The cost is $180 per camper and it includes a meal. Troy’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will be hosting a number of camps. The women’s program hosts its Little Dribblers Camp June 3-6 for campers ranging from kindergarten to seventh grade. The cost for the camp is $125 per camper and includes a camp T-shirt. The women’s team will also host a skills camp for fifth through 12th graders June 24 form 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. for $65 per camper, including a T-Shirt. Troy men’s basketball coach Scott Cross will host his annual Scott Cross Basketball Camp for first graders through eighth graders June 10-12. The cost is $100 per camper, and first through fourth graders will take part in the camp from 8 a.m. until noon each day, while fifth through eighth graders will take part in the camp from 12:30 until 5 p.m. each day. Men’s basketball will also host a team camp June 7-8 and an Elite Camp for high school students June 15. For more information, visit https://www.scottcrossbasketballcamps.com/.

The Troy soccer team will host a pair of youth camps this summer. The first camp, for ages four through 12, will take place from June 24 through June 27 for boys and girls. The cost is $258.50 for full day of camp each day or $206 for half day of camp each day. Troy Soccer will also host camps for 13-18-year-olds July 27-28. Finally, Troy Volleyball will host its All Skills Camp July 12-13. The cost is $275 for campers that are going to stay overnight and $225 for commuter campers.
