Troy University Athletics announced the completion of its 2027 road schedule on Wednesday, adding a big-time Power 5 matchup with the University of Miami (Fla.).

Troy will travel to Miami on Sept. 11, 2027, as the two schools will face off for the first time since Troy’s first year in FBS play back in 2001. Troy lost that one and only matchup between the two schools, 38-7, during the Demontray Carter and Brock Nutter era of Troy Football.

“This is going to be an exciting game for our football program and our tremendous fans in a destination city,” Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. “Our connection to Miami is unique as they were one of our first opponents during the inaugural 2001 FBS season. The 2027 season, which will feature seven home games for the first time in a regular season, is loaded with marquee matchups.”

Troy has been hard at work filling out-of-conference schedules and just this week announced the additions of Buffalo and Southeastern Louisiana to the 2027 schedule, which completes it with the previously announced home game against the SEC’s Mississippi State.

Troy has now filled up its out-of-conference schedules for the 2025 (Memphis, Nicholls State, at Clemson and at Buffalo) and 2027 (Mississippi State, Southeastern Louisiana, Buffalo and at Miami) seasons. Troy still has one game to add to the 2026 and 2028 slates, however.
