CHHS hosts Basketball Banquet

On Wednesday, Charles Henderson High School recognized and honored its basketball team at an award’s banquet.

At the banquet a number of awards were presented to CHHS athletes. Jywon Boyd – who earned All-State and All-Messenger honors in basketball this season – earned the team’s Best Offensive Player Award, while Bray Jones was awarded the Best Defensive Player. Boyd will play college football at Troy University and Jones will play college basketball at Enterprise State Community College.

Bradley Prestwood was presented the Most Improved Award and Benton Dunn earned the Mr. Hustle Award. Cody Cross also was presented with the Best Three Point Percentage Award. Both Dertavious Lee and Antonio Frazier earned the Trojan Award.

“I want to give a very special ‘Thank You’ to Mr. Dan Smith for being our master of ceremony, and for his unwavering support of Charles Henderson High School basketball and athletics,” CHHS Coach Tim Fayson said. “Also, a very big, ‘Thank you,’ to my coaching staff, administration, the parents and Superintendent Mrs. Cynthia Thomas, as well as Shelia Jackson and the City of Troy.”
