Kaylin Jackson repeats as 3A State Champion runner

This weekend, Pike County High School’s Kaylin Jackson once again became Class 3A Girls State Champion in the 100-meter dash.
The win marked Jackson’s second consecutive state championship in the 100-meter dash. Jackson finished with a blistering time of 12.56. Jackson was also a member of the girls 4×100-meter relay team that also won the Class 3A State Championship with a time of 49.81. Joining Jackson on the 4×100-meter relay was Jada Duncan, Quanajah Smith and D’Yana Knox.
Kaylin Jackson’s brother, Braylin Jackson, also finished as state runner-up in the Boys 3A 100-meter dash with a time of 11.14. Smith, who was also a part of the State Championship 4×100-meter relay team, finished state runner-up in the girls 3A triple jump just behind Hillcrest Evergreen’s Shanaya Hinton.
