Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On Saturday, everything was coming up spring in downtown Brundidge.

The Brundidge Business Association’s annual Spring Fest was held on the grounds of the historic Bass house in the city’s downtown area.

The annual spring festival featured arts and crafts and music at the Knox Ryals Pavilion. The entertainment also included dancing by troupes of very talented young dancers, Patty Rutland Jazz, and also by talented adult groups, the Southside Shufflers and the KFPA Line Dancers. When the dance floor opened to the audiences, there was no hesitation to “take the floor.”

Throughout Spring Fest, ticket holders kept watchful eyes on the cow featured in the Cow Patty Drop. The cow was penned within eyeshot of festival goers.

The cow outlasted some of the ticket-holders and they left with “call me if I win.”

Around lunch, the cow picked the winner or, as it was, two winners.

According to the rules of Cow Paddy Drop, if the cow, drops the paddy on a line, the prize money is split between the two squares.

After searching through the many tickets, Cow Paddy Drop Chairman Huey Green found both winners’ ticket.

Skyler Wright and Valerie Henderson. Each received $250.

Green congratulated the winners of the Cow Paddy Drop and thanked all those who participated in the BBA fundraiser, the entertainers and the artists and crafters.

Membership is open to local merchants and also to those who have an interest in seeing Brundidge continue to grow.
