“The free gift we give to members is just something we do to give back to our alumni,” Troy Alumni Director Faith Ward said. “We do it in May because everyone is getting ready for football season and we want to be able to get our cards out, so everyone knows the benefits of the alumni association before we have our first tailgate in August.”

The alumni association will also be promoting alongside Troy Athletics during the upcoming Trojan Tour. Ward said that a portion of membership fees go back to supporting scholarships for prospective Troy students.

“We want to be able to give back in the form of scholarships to all these deserving students,” Ward emphasized. “That’s another reason we do this in May, so that we can be ready to give more scholarships to deserving students going into the fall.”

The kickoff event will be held at Fuse Coffee at 68 W. Ct. Square in Troy on May from 8 until 9:30 a.m.
