The TroyFest Art & Craft festival will be held in downtown Troy on April 27 and 28 and will feature more than 90 artists including popular artists from the local area.

Morgan Drinkard, festival publicity chair, said the festival is held annually in memory of Jean Lake, a local, highly acclaimed folk artist.  The juried show accepts artists in the categories of pottery, folk art, painting, photography, graphics & drawing, functional craft and decorative craft.

The festival is free of charge and is open on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Not only does TroyFest feature outstanding artists and crafters, the entertainment stage will include SheBANG Dance Studio, the Dixieland Band, Center Stagers, Gabby J and Friends, Voltage Dance Academy, the Troy University Gospel Choir and the FBC Celebration Choir along with others.

“Supporting TroyFest is about supporting the arts,” Drinkard said and encourages everyone who enjoys arts, crafts and outstanding entertainment to make TroyFest their destination on April 27 and 28.

“Make plans to come downtown and stay the whole day while you shop for Mother’s Day presents, graduation gifts, home décor and artwork for your home,” Drinkard said. “In addition to the TroyFest artists and vendors, many of the downtown businesses and restaurants will have extended hours and specials for TroyFest guests. This is a weekend full of fun for our community and everyone is invited to enjoy it with friends and family.”

TroyFest is a presentation of the City of Troy, the Troy Arts Council and the Pike County Chamber of Commerce. The festival is made possible by the generous business sponsors, a volunteer committee and grant awarding agencies.
