Troy drops midweek game with Jax State

The Troy Trojans (26-13) fell to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks (14-23) by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday.

Troy earned just six hits as a team but were also walked seven times. Kole Myers earend a triple and scored two runs, while Ethan Kavanagh scored the other Trojan run. Colton Walls took the loss on the mound, striking out one batter and giving up no hits and one earned run in 2/3 of an inning pitched. Grayson Stewart struck out four and gave up two hits and one earned run in two and 2/3 innings pitched.

For Jacksonville State, Logan Walters went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run, while Bear Madliak went 2-for-4 with two runs. Will Fincher also went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and one run. Jackson Sleeper earned the win at pitcher, striking out one and giving up one hit and no earned runs in three and 2/3 innings. Austin Cornelius earned his second save of the season, as well.
