Pike Lib Baseball celebrates Senior Day with win over Zion Chapel

The Class 2A No. 2-ranked Pike Liberal Arts Patriots (22-5) celebrated Senior Night on April 11 with a 10-8 win over the Zion Chapel Rebels (9-14).
Pike led for much of the game, holding on to a 10-4 lead going into the seventh inning but ZCHS began to rally, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh. Pike managed to hang on for the Senior Night win, however.
Pike was led at the plate by Cole Garrott, who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run, while John Lott went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Kade Brookins scored two runs and Houston Gunter, Payton Elliot and Hudson Hollinghead each earned a double.
A total of six PLAS pitchers toed the rubber in the win. Will Rice got the win on the mound, striking out five batters and giving up no hits or runs in two innings pitched. Brookins pitched two innings and fanned four batters, while giving up one hit and no earned runs. Dawson Bradford closed the game out, striking out one batter and giving up one hit and one earned run.
For Zion Chapel, Wes Braisted went 3-for-4 with a triple, a grand slam home run, five RBIs and two runs. Brodie Stinson scored three runs and Brady Flowers scored two. John Foster Hamm truck out a pair of batters and gave up five hits and seven earned runs in one and 2/3 innings pitched. Dylan Davis struck out four batters and gave up three hits and two earned runs in two and 1/3 innings pitched.
