Troy hosts annual Pro Day

The Troy Trojans hosted 23 NFL scouts for its annual Pro Day on Monday as a number of former Trojans get set to for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Edge rusher Javon Solomon and running back Kimani Vidal were both invited to the NFL Combine last month and impressed. The pair again worked out in front of scouts at Pro Day in select drills, while other Trojans also competed.

Solomon put up 27 reps on the bench press, which would have ranked second best among edge defenders at the Combine. Additionally, defensive tackle Buddha Jones put up an impressive 35 reps on the bench press, which would have ranked second among all players at the Combine. Defensive tackle AJ Pierce was earned 31 reps on the bench press.

Receiver Marcus Rogers showed off in the vertical jump with a 38.5-inch vertical, while edge rusher Richard Jibunor showed off a 35-inch vertical.

Rogers again showed off his athleticism with the best broad jump of 10-feet-10-inches. Reddy Steward was right behind him with a broad jump of 10-feet-6-inches. Rogers again showed off with a 40-yard dash time of 4.40 seconds with Don Callis coming in at 4.41 seconds, former Troy cornerback Kyle Cass showing off a 4.44 time and Steward earning a time of 4.45.

Rogers was again the best in the shuttle with a time of 4.23, while Dell Pettus and Richard Jibunor earned a time of 4.35.

The complete list of NFL franchises in attendance was the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers.
