Pike Lib, Goshen drop Monday matchups

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots lost 67-57 to the Providence Christian Eagles on Monday night in a battle of three-pointers.

The two schools combined for 23 three-pointers in the game – 14 from Providence and nine from PLAS – tied for 11th most in Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) history for a game.

Pike Lib’s Jackson Mitchell scored 18 points with four three-pointers, while Sawyer Keck scored 14 points and Slade Renfroe scored 10 points. Providence’s Pearce Boone scored 33 points along with 10 rebounds and nine blocks.

Goshen meanwhile, dropped a Class 2, Area 4 contest with Highland Home by a score of 77-41. Jayden McNabb scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, earned one assist and one block in the loss, while KJ Bristow added 12 points and three rebounds.
