Mardi Gras Gala 2024 promises to be the same, fun and memorable event that it has been from the very beginning.

Catherine Jordan, director of the Colley Senior Complex, said the Gala is an annual fundraiser in support of Colley Senior Complex programs, activities and events.

However, the Mardi Gras Gala has changed over the years.

“Although we have kept the festive Mardi Gras theme, we no longer have krewes with everyone dressing Mardi Gras style. Now, the gala fundraiser is more of a come as you like event,” Jordan said.” You can come dressed to the nines or you can wear your cowboy hat and boots. Just make sure you can get the boots off in a hurry so you can get to the dance floor.”

Jordan said some people are so anxious to get to the fun event that they come in the front door dancing.

“And this year, we have a great band, the Groove Factor Band from Memphis, Tennessee,” Jordan said. “They play every genre of songs from the era of Motown to today’s hits.  If you don’t love dancing when you get to the Gala, you’ll love it when you leave.”

The Mardi Gras Gala will be a night of food, fun and community wide friendship.

A few tables are still available, including several small tables.

Large tables are available for groups and for businesses and corporations with a few tables to accommodate smaller numbers.

Only the Drawdown will slow the dancing and dining at the Gala, but only for a short time.

Tickets for the Drawdown remain available and with each $100 ticket comes the chance to turn the  $100 into $10,000.

Everything gets rather quite when the Drawdown gets closer to the “final” four.

The last four in the drawing will decide whether to split the pot or keep drawing until the pot is split and the winner takes all.

“The Drawdown is really exciting, but, the Gala is fun and exciting from the beginning to the end,” Jordan said. “Tickets are still available at the Colley Senior Complex or by calling  808-8500.”
