Master storytellers headline festival

The Pike Piddlers Storytelling is set for January 26 at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge and at the Trojan Center Theater on the campus of Troy University on Saturday, January 27.

This year’s festival will feature highly acclaimed storytellers Donald Davis, the Dean of Storytelling; Michael Reno Harrell, Appalachian picker and grinner; Dolores Hydock, highly acclaimed story performer, and newcomer to the festival, but not to storytelling, the Rev. Robert Jones from Detroit who plays acoustic instruments, sings and tells stories that are tailor made for piddlin’ around.

“But all four tellers will be at each of the three storytelling concerts at the Trojan Center Theater.

Each concert will open with picking and singing by local groups prior to the storytellers taking center stage.

All four storytellers will be featured at each concert and all stories will be different.
