She attended Dale County High School in Ozark, Alabama and then went on to attend Auburn University where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. After marriage, she became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Troy, Alabama. She worked as financial secretary for many years and never missed the opportunity to selflessly serve in numerous roles throughout the church. Along with her dear friend, Rachel Hawkins, she assisted in founding and advising the Troy University chapter of Chi Omega sorority. She cherished her role as the chapter’s financial advisor for many years. Alice was an avid Auburn football fan, but as much as she loved her Auburn Tigers, there is nothing she loved more than her family and friends. Affectionately known as Gra, she will be most remembered by all those that love her as a woman of virtue, a faithful wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a devoted sister, a loyal friend, and an uncommonly generous woman who always gave of her time, energy, and many talents. She was the definition of a southern lady and a woman with unwavering sincere faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Alice is survived by her children, Elizabeth Hudson (Paul), Ellen Sanders (Steve), and Tripp Walters; grandchildren, Will Hudson (Christina), Layton Sanders (Arden), Libby Eubanks (Jacob), Luke Sanders, Chandler Hudson (Molly Kate), Wyatt Walters, and Casey Walters (Kelly); great grandchildren, Anna Hudson, Allie Sanders, Caroline Hudson, Jaylyn Walters, Davis Sanders, Rivers Sanders, Webb Eubanks, Katherine Eubanks, Lydia Walters, and Hayes Hudson; sister, Rosa Ellen Cornell.

A private family graveside service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery in Troy, Alabama with Dr. Karl K Stegall and Rev. Steve Winton officiating.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Walters honor may be directed to Troy First Methodist Church (213 North 3 Notch Street, Troy, Alabama 36081) and Choose Water (choosewater.org or 4144 Carmichael Road, Suite 20, Montgomery, Alabama 36106).
