JCA to host The Art of Seeing With a Camera Workshop

Warren Simons practices the art of seeing.

The Montgomery based artist has practiced the “art of seeing with the camera” for 20 years.

On Saturday, Simons will conduct a free workshop in Troy for those who would like to know more about “seeing with the camera.”

The Johnson Center for the Arts will host the photography workshop led by the award-winning artist from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday. The Studio is just across from the JCA on Walnut Street in downtown Troy.

Andrea Pack, JCA director, said the workshop is a unique opportunity to learn from and work with an award-winning artist,

The workshop is expected to generate much interest and excitement so those who plan to participate are encouraged to call 670-2287 about availability.

The workshop might generate curiosity about the art of seeing?

Simons said photographs can come for a place where expectations and preconceived ideas are let go and given over to curious exploration, letting the visual surprises in everyday world surprise.

On Saturday, those who participate in Simon’s workshop will learn about seeing with a camera and how to better connect with the visual world.
