On Monday, Troy football coach Gerard Parker continued to fill out his first staff with the additions of Justin Manning as defensive line coach and the promotion of graduate assistant Trey Page to defensive analyst.
Manning comes to Troy after two seasons as defensive coordinator at Division III Tufts College, where his defense ranked 14th nationally in 2023.
Prior to his stint at Tufts, Manning served on Duke’s staff for four years. Manning served as special assistant to the head coach and defensive quality control coach in 2021 at Duke and between 2017 and 2019 he served as football operations assistant with the Blue Devils. In 2019, he was defensive line coach at Eastern Illinois.
From 2014 through 2015, Manning coached at Boston College as assistant recruiting specialist, special teams assistant and assistant running backs coach. Manning also has NFL experience having served as a coaching intern with the San Diego Chargers in 2015. Manning played college football at North Carolina Central as a fullback.
Page is a graduate of Troy University, having played receiver at Troy for both Larry Blakeney and Neal Brown. For the past two seasons, Page has served as a graduate assistant at Troy.
Page worked with the defense in his first year as a graduate assistant and the offense in his second year. Before returning to his alma mater, Page started his coaching career as defensive coordinator at Evangel Christian Academy and also served as offensive coordinator at Centennial High School in Florida for five seasons.
