BHS seeks new members

The Brundidge Historical Society will meet a 6:30 Thursday night at the We Piddle Around Theater in downtown Brundidge.

All members are encouraged to attend along with those who are interested in preserving the cultural heritage of the Pike County and the surrounding areas.

Lawrence Bowden, BBA president, said the historical society continually seeks ways to tell the stories of the country’s rural areas in new and different ways.

There was kinship with all rural areas throughout the country in days gone by, he said.

The BHS seeks to tell stories that are relevant throughout the country and in many different ways – storytelling, music, folklife plays and historical presentation.

Bowden said the BHS is always looking for new ways to preserve the historical. cultural and physical heritage of the places “we call home.”

“And we always welcome new members to our historical association,” Bowden said.

BHS membership annual dues are $15 for individuals and $25 for couples

Members have the opportunity to select to participate in their areas of interest throughout the year with begins in January with the Pike Piddlers Storytelling Festival and closes with the Chili Country Christmas in December.
