Mardi Gras is coming early to Troy this year so the wait for the Mardi Gras Gala, the party of year, is not as long.

The highly anticipated and much enjoyed Mardi Gras Gala is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, February 3, at the Pike County Cattlemen’s Complex and, already tickets are going fast, said Catherine Jordan, director of the Colley Senior Complex,

“The Mardi Gras Gala is the annual fundraiser for programs and activities at the Colley Senior Complex,” Jordan said. “The Gala is a fun fundraiser and there is no better way to say ‘thank you’ to those who come out to enjoy our Gala and in support of our senior adults. There is no way to say what the Colley Senior Complex means to our senior adults and to our community.”

Jordan said, within the last eight years, the Mardi Gras Gala has become more of a party than a Mardi Gras event and is more focused on fundraising for the senior complex.

“Most everyone comes to the Gala dressed in sparkles and suits but it’s not long before the heels are kicked off and jackets are behind the chairs,” Jordan said, laughing.

Of course, there’s always and great food, dancing to a great band and party favors and the fun and fellowship of friends and neighbors.

Tables are available for “you and your best friends” as well as corporate tables.

“But both are selling fast,” Jordan said. “So, don’t want too long because the tables will sell out quickly.”

For table information, call the Colley Complex at 808-8500 or 372-1231 after hours.

Tickets are also available for the Drawdown fundraiser for the Colley Senior Complex. And, the odds are “pretty good.”

“In the drawdown, a $100 ticket could win you $10,000,” Jordan said. “Some people like to get together on a ticket or tickets. The more tickets you’re on the better chance you’ll have and the more exciting the drawdown will be.”

Drawdown tickets are available at the Colley Senior Complex in Elm Street in Troy.

“The Mardi Gras Gala is a communitywide event and is fun for everyone,” Jordan said.
