The Charles Henderson Trojans will play the Dothan Wolves in the quarterfinals of the Downtown Dothan Hoops Classic at the Dothan Civic Center on Thursday.  

Charles Henderson dominated Ashford 69-39 in the opening round on Tuesday. The Trojans jumped out to a resounding 17-3 lead in the first quarter and took a 31-16 lead at halftime. CHHS also outscored Ashford 38-23 in the second half, as well.  

CHHS shot 45 percent from the field in the win, while holding Ashford to 29 percent shooting. CHHS also won the rebound battle 39-31 and forced 20 turnovers. Jwyon Boyd led Charles Henderson with 19 points, four assists, three steals, one block and three rebounds. Dertavious Lee chipped in with 12 points, while Bray Jones added 10 points and three rebounds. Zion Grady also just missed out on a double-double with eight points and 11 rebounds.  

In other first round games, Dothan defeated Carroll 71-39, Providence Christian beat Dale County 75-38, Eufaula bested Georgiana 65-63, Abbeville beat Headland 58-54, Geneva topped Wicksburg 72-40, Houston Academy topped Rehobeth 70-49 and Geneva County downed Northside Methodist 58-47.  

Charles Henderson will meet Dothan in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Dothan Civic Center. The semifinals will take place on Friday.
