CHHS competes in Daphne Holiday Hoops Tournament

The Charles Henderson Trojans traveled to Daphne for the CSP Holdings Holiday Hoops Classic this week.

Charles Henderson dropped its first matchup with Daphne by a score of 50-47. Charles Henderson took an early 10-8 lead but fell behind 18-14 at halftime. The Trojans cut the lead to 29-26. Daphne held off a late CHHS rally to pick up the win.

Jywon Boyd led CHHS with 14 points, while Bradley Prestwood scored 13 points, Zion Grady added nine and Bray Jones scored eight points.

The Trojans followed up with a 63-60 loss to St. Luke’s. CHHS jumped out to a 17-9 lead but St. Luke’s cut the lead to 25-20 at halftime. St. Luke’s took control of the game in the third quarter and led 46-37 going into the fourth quarter. Jywon Boyd scored 18 points in the second half and CHHS outscored St. Luke’s 23-17 in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough as CHHS fell 63-60.

Body led CHHS with 24 points, while Bray Jones scored 18 points and Prestwood chipped in with 10 points.

Charles Henderson will head to Dothan on Dec. 26 to compete in the Downtown Dothan Hoops Classic.
